24 of the Best Ways to Get into the Vortex
I’m spilling some of my personal favorite ways to get into the vortex. Because if you can get in, and stay in, your vortex (enough of the time) manifesting will become easy, breezy and beautiful. Just like a cover girl.
Ahhhh... the vortex. The place where all our manifestations wait patiently for us to get on their level and finally receive them.
If you're new to the term "vortex" it's basically just an analogy that Abraham Hicks (the best Law of Attraction teacher of all time) created to help us visualize a place where all our manifestations are first created vibrationally, before we can see, smell, taste, or touch them in this physical, three dimensional, world.
Because, as the Universe would have it, when you ask it is given. Meaning, when you want something, you automatically think it into existence and it becomes real (energetically).
So even though you can't see it (yet) in "real life", it does indeed already exist as a vibrational reality, as a possibility in the quantum field.
When you "get into the vortex" you are simply coming into alignment with your highest self and becoming a vibrational match to everything you have already asked for.
This is why the concept of the vortex is so important. In order to manifest all the goodies, you gotta get in the vortex, your vortex! The energetic place where everything you've ever wanted already exists.
Without being in the vortex, A.K.A. feeling really f-ing good (a majority of the time, at least) it will be hard for you to realize your manifestations, which have already manifested there, so to speak.
So today, I would love to share with you guys, in no particular order, some of my personal favorite ways to get into the vortex. Because if you can get in, and stay in, your vortex (enough of the time) manifesting will become easy, breezy and beautiful. Just like a cover girl.

1. Napping
Napping is a great hack for resetting your vibration, especially mid-day. If you feel you're quickly approaching a slippery slope of unnecessary negativity, pause for a little snooze and then RESET when you wake up. (Don't just pick back up where you left off. Start fresh upon reawakening.)
2. Music
Since music carries its own frequency, it's a super duper easy way to hack yours. It's extra helpful to create playlists in advance that are sure to put you in a certain mood.
I personally keep a playlist that always makes me happy no matter what and also one for when I feel sad and need to cry. Trust me, it helps!
3. Dancing
If you watch follow me on instagram you probably already know that nothing get's me into the vortex quicker than moving my body in ways that please me. Doesn't matter if it's salsa, ballet, contemporary or just freeflowing.Dancing is life.
4. Sun Bathing
Basking in the glory of the sun is a surefire way to energize yourself with pure white light and get some vitamin D at the same time. Can't go wrong (unless you forget sunscreen, of course)!
5. Regular Bathing
Something about floating in a nice warm tub just does the trick for me every time. Getting into the vortex is so easy when you're weightless and you leave all your worries outside the bathroom. Bath time = sacred time.
Or, if you want to be extra fancy you can visit a floatation spa, where they have big sensory deprivation tubs full of healing epson salt. Zero gravity baby.
6. Running
Although I'm not generally a huge fan of running, at times I do find it helpful to put on my magical Bose headphones, listen to an inspirational jam, and run as fast as I can. Then I leverage the runners high to help me get (and stay) in my vortex. Works like a charm.
7. Meditation
Obviously, no list about getting into the vortex is complete without the oldest technique in the book, meditation. This daily practice of mine is one of the most important things I do to get and stay in my happy place! 15 minutes a day is literally all it takes.

8. Gratitude
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Gratitude is the attitude, especially when trying to access your vortex. It's one of the quickest ways to get and stay there. So do it! Every day, all the time.

9. Sex
(** Tweens and teens who read this blog... cover your eyes!)
Let's just put it this way, having an orgasm is a pretty surefire way to get into the vortex. #enoughsaid
10. Decluttering
Lightening the load of physical stuff in my life helps me feel less dense, which in turn, gets me closer to my natural high-vibe, light-filled, self. It's one of my favorite go-to activities for feeling better when I need a little pick me up.
Here are a few helpful decluttering tips if you're ready to take on the challenge.
11. Journaling
A really effective thing to journal about that will quickly raise your vibration is how much you love, appreciate, and are thankful for yourself. Which is exactly why I created this free printable that you should totally download! It’s a list of 21 Self-Love Journal Prompts that are sure to get you into the vortex in no time.
12. Acts of Kindness
When I do something nice for someone else, I immediately feel connected to my highest self. And that, my friends, is exactly how you want to feel when trying to get into your vortex, connected to the real you.
13. Hugging (The Right People)
While I am extremely picky about who I let touch my body and get into my energetic space, I do find it very healing and elevating to give and receive long hugs with the right people. Heart to heart baby.
14. Tarot Reading
Reading Tarot cards is such a fun way for me to get in touch with my divine side and really feel connected to my intuition. Doing it for myself when I want clarity is always nice, but doing it for others is what really fires me up.
Plus, I absolutely love my Wild Unknown Tarot Deck, so that doesn't hurt.
15. Walking in Nature
Nature + moving my body + breathing deeply = bliss.
When you spend time in nature you naturally begin to attune to its high frequency. Nature is always in the vortex, so get out there if you want to be in yours too!
16. Crystals
Using crystals as tools for elevating my energy and the energy of my spaces (office and home) is a really subtle, but nice, way to feel those vortex vibes. Meditating with, wearing, and decorating with crystals are a few of my favorite ways to use them.

17. Affirmations
As the self-proclaimed queen of affirmations, I couldn't forget to add this one to the list. I use affirmations to get myself into the vortex all. the. time.
If you need help with this I wrote a whole book about affirmations and how to get them to actually work for you. It's called #ActuallyICan: The Art of Affirming Yourself to Greatness. It will help you tremendously to get from wherever you are emotionally (on any topic) to where you would rather be (A.K.A. into the vortex).
18. Yoga
Because I'm such a body person, yoga is one of my favorite ways to get into the vortex. The combination of breath, movement, and presence gets me on some kind of next level and I always find myself very aligned (mentally, energetically, and physically) after I practice.
19. Making Art
When I make art, I can't not be in the vortex. Creation is what the vortex is all about after all!
20. Watching a Funny Show
If I'm going to spend any time watching T.V. you know it's gonna be something that makes me laugh. Why? Because laughter is healing, and healing feels good, and feeling good get's you into the vortex.
21. Connecting With High Vibe Peeps
When in the presence of high vibe peeps your vibration will naturally rise to meet theirs, so it's a good way to get into the vortex. Just hang with others who are already in theirs!

22. Reading Inspirational Books
Just by reading an inspirational text you naturally begin to attune to the frequency of it! For example, I couldn't stay out of the vortex even if I wanted to when I'm immersed in A Course in Miracles (or any of these other books that are absolutely life changing)!

23. Listening to Abraham Hicks
Obviously, the creator of the term "vortex" needs to be on this list of ways to get into the vortex! Listening to my favorite spiritual teacher of all time, Abraham, is the best way for me to remember who I really am, what's really going on, and how to get everything I want out of life. #thebest
I especially love listening to their talks on Youtube.
24. Tiny Puppies
How can you NOT be happy when you're in the presence of a puppy? Am I right?

How to Quickly Get into Alignment with What You Want
My super simple formula for manifesting anything your heart desires.
We all want to manifest awesome things in our life because well, we want them! Our lives would be sooo much better if we only had, some extra cash, a romantic relationship, or a sweet ride... Am I right?
But I bet you've never realized the real reason why you want these things... Want me to tell you? The real reason why you ever want anything is because of the way you think it will make you feel once you have it.

The tricky part in manifesting though is that in order to attract something into your life you have to be a vibrational match to it. And in order to be a vibrational match to it you have to feel how you want to feel FIRST in order to attract the thing you want SECOND.
(That's why I always tell people to just prioritize feeling good so you can easily manifest tons of feel good things. It's the best life hack there is.)
So, in today's article I'm going to teach you my exact formula for getting into alignment with what you want so you can manifest it super easily!
Here are the two parts to my special maifesting equation.
1. Identify how your desired manifestation will make you feel, the real reason why you want it.
2. Think of fun and creative ways to cultivate that feeling now and then do them!

Step 1: Identify the Feeling
The first step is to simply identify the feelings associated with having your desired manifestation. In other words, how will the thing that you want make you feel once you already have it. To figure this out, use the following sentence as a guide.
"I want (insert the desired manifestation) because it will make me feel (insert feelings associated with having that manifestation)."
For example, "I want a boyfriend because he will make me feel loved, happy, and pretty."or "I want a Tesla because it will make me feel like an environmentally friendly baller." or "I want $1,000 extra every month because it will help me feel calm, secure and stable."
Step 2: Get Creative and Go for It
Now that you've identified the feelings, it's time to see how you can start to incorporate those feelings into your life, right now. (Not tomorrow, not when you already have that thing that you want, not next year... NOW.)
What are some of the ways you can start to cultivate those feelings without having to have your manifestation yet? As soon as you can figure this out and execute on it, your manifestation HAS to come as a happy bi-product!
For example, going off the first boyfriend example from above, how could you start to feel loved, happy and pretty, starting now?
You could love yourself more to make yourself feel loved. You could do the activities that make you happy to feel happy. And you could tell yourself your pretty and do things that make you feel pretty so you can feel pretty. See? Not too hard right?
Or let's play off the second example about the Tesla. You identified that you wanted it so you could feel like an "environmentally friend baller". So how can you start to feel and act like someone who's environmentally friendly and a baller?!
You could recycle. You could pick up trash. You could find ways to reduce your carbon footprint. You could pretend that your current car is a Tesla. You could give big tips at restaurants like a baller would... The possibilities are endless!
Lastly, to drive the point home, let's use the third example about the extra $1,000 a month. How could you start to feel more feel calm, secure, and stable in your life today in order to be a vibrational match to the money?
You could meditate every day. You could save more of the money that you do have to cultivate more security. You could spend less to feel more financially stable. You could take up yoga and practice the poses that help promote grounding and stability. (Seriously, you could!) You could start a gratitude journal so you could feel more abundant....
As you can see from all the examples above, it just takes a little bit of creativity to start cultivating certain feelings in your life. And once you get the hang of this skill, you'll become an unstoppable manifesting machine because you'll know how to get into alignment with anything your little heart desires! Split Energy: The Best Way to Sabotage Your Desired Manifestations
When it comes to manifesting, split energy is apparently not as cool as it sounds. In fact, split energy often the one thing that's holding you apart from your desired manifestation. GASP!
When I first heard the term split energy (from Abraham Hicks, of course) I thought it meant something really cool. "Split energy... now we're talkin'! Sounds fancy..."
But, I was sorely mistaken. Because when it comes to manifesting, split energy is apparently NOT as cool as it sounds. In fact, split energy is often the one thing that's holding you apart from your desired manifestation. GASP!
What is Split Energy?
So what is split energy you ask?
Split energy is simply when your energy or focus is split in half. (Well, duh.) On one hand, you're focusing on what you want, but at the same time, you're also focusing on how you don't have it.
Or maybe you're focusing on what you want while simultaneously focusing on why you want it, justifying your desire by focusing on your current reality. Split energy is basically just wanting something, but feeling without it.
You think you're focused on what you want, but you're not focused enough for it to actually happen. You're too busy also thinking about the absence of it, how it's too hard, or not gonna happen, or whatever the case may be.

Examples of Split Energy
Here's what split energy looks like in action. Maybe one of these will sound oddly familiar to you...
"I would love more money, but I'm just not willing to put in the work it takes to get it."
"I want a new car because the one I have now is so horrible and old. I hate it with all my heart. A new car would make my life sooo much better than it is right now."
"I really want to be in a relationship, but nobody is ever that into me. I've always been single. Whenever it gets close to being serious they just run away."
"I've been wanting to move to Hawaii because the people here as so bothersome and the weather sucks and I just need to start over."
You catching my drift here?
The general jist is "Get me over there because I'm unhappy here." But this thought pattern never, ever works.
You can't get to "happy over there" from "unhappy here". Because "unhappy here" is not a vibrational match to "happy over there", like, at all! It's as if your thoughts are just canceling each other out, keeping you forever stuck. That is, until you can learn to focus better.
How to Cure Split Energy
As soon as you can make the majority of your thoughts about what you do want, and stop justifying why you want it or why you don't have it yet, it will come. #thatwaseasy
It's also important to remember this is an inclusion based Universe. When you say and focus on what you don't want you're still inviting it into your experience. You can't get rid of things you don't want by focusing on them and talking (or should I say, complaining) about them all the time.
So, stop justifying why you want what you want.
You're allowed to want things for the sole purpose that they will make you happy. You don't have to explain yourself to anyone. Wanting more is natural and totally ok.
Similarly, stop talking about how the situation currently is.
The present moment is already old news as far as the Law of Attraction is concerned. Everything that's happening to you now is because of the dominant vibration or mood you offered in the past.
Lastly, Do whatever it takes to tip the scales of focus.
Visualize your split energy as if it were on a scale. On one side you have your focus on the desired outcome. On the other you have your precious little justification, hindering belief, current reality, etc... When your energy is split, both sides are fairly even. But what you need is more emphasis, or in this case, weight on the desired outcome side in order for your manifestation to show up in real life. There are two ways to achieve this. 1. You can either focus more on the desired outcome than you are now, or 2. Focus less on the other side.
I recommend the ladder. Because it's usually a lot easier to rid yourself of the hindering thoughts than to make good ones stronger since you've probably been trying to manifest this thing (whatever it may be for you) for a while now, so focusing on it more it just gonna be frustrating.
And if you just can't focus any better than you already are, don't focus on it at all! That's right. I said it. Don't focus on the very thing your heart desires anymore.
The universe already knows you feakin' want it! Focus on something else for the time being. Something that actually does make you feel good when you think about it. Because the real key to manifesting is to raise your vibration so that you can receive! So feel good first, and then what you want will finally come.

Simply stated, if you feel good you’re in an awesome high vibrational place, allowing all the goodies of life to come your way. If you feel bad, then you’re obviously in a lower vibrational state, resisting the goodies.
Your vibration matters because the law of attraction is ALWAYS attracting things to you that match your vibration. It responds directly to your vibration and only to your vibration. Not your words, not your vision boards, not your feng shui. (These are all just tools that help raise you to a desired vibration.)

Because when you feel good you attract good things. And who doesn't want that?!
Side note: This does not mean that you have to be happy all the time or that feeling negative emotions is somehow wrong or bad. Ups and downs are a natural flow of life. And we can't even have good feeling emotions without the contrast of the "bad" ones. But wouldn't you prefer to be up more than down? I think yes.

So, the frequency of your desire and the frequency of your day-to-day thought about your desire have to be on the same vibrational wavelength. And how do you know when it is? It feels good to think about it.”
Think about the people you know. Everybody knows that one person who is always feeling shitty and complaining about their life. This person feels bad to be around and, to put it bluntly, their life kinda sucks.
Seems like bad things are always happening to them. On the outside they look plain unlucky, but really the law of attraction is just doing its job and matching them up with unfortunate events that coincide with their low vibration.
Their point of attraction is so low that they are only a match to low vibrational things! Which makes them more unhappy, which lowers their point of attraction even more. It can be a vicious cycle, if you don’t know how to get out.
On the other hand, everybody knows somebody who’s life seems perfect. They are always smiling and oozing with charisma. Everything they touch turns to gold. Their work life is perfect. Their love life is perfect. They get everything they want.
They are considered the “lucky ones”. But this is no accident. These are really the high vibrational ones. Attracting circumstances that reflect their mood and attitude about life.
Everybody wants to be this person. And following your emotions is the first step to getting there.
The Emotional Guidance Scale by Abraham Hicks
One of my favorite law of attraction teachers, Abraham Hicks, created an awesome emotional guidance scale. It has all the common emotions listed from high vibration to low vibration (top to bottom).
It's a super valuable tool that demonstrates how, through baby steps, you can move up the emotional scale one emotion at a time. It's basically an emotional map that can get you where you want to go.
The scale looks something like this...

The idea is that you can use this knowledge to your advantage and always reach for a slightly better feeling emotion, no matter where you are on the scale at any time! #genius
One-by-one, you can climb your way up the emotional ladder in small, manageable steps.
Let's quickly walk through some main components of this emotional guidance scale.
Depression obviously feels the worst and is when your vibration has hit an all-time low. But from there you can find slight relief in anger. Anger actually feels a little bit better and is therefore higher up on the scale.
Around boredom and contentment is where the scale goes from a somewhat neutral or complacent vibration into the higher vibrational moods.
And of course love and joy are the pinocle level.
I don’t have to tell you that it can be hard to go from a super negative emotion to a super positive one in an instant. This scale explains why. It's too big a vibrational gap. It’s easier to take it one mood at a time.
That's why when you're in a negative state you can't just "think positive" and expect it to work. All you can do is think slightly less negative until eventually you hit the tipping point and begin to feel better and better.
Going from super negative to super positive in an instant is not impossible. (When it happens, it's literally called a miracle.) But it sure can be a hell of a lot harder than gradually working your way up this scale, especially if you've been feeling down for a while and have a lot of negative momentum going on.
Trying to conquer such a big vibrational gap in one moment is like trying to jump across the grand canyon, with no trampoline, no parachute, no nothing. #badidea
Using the emotional guidance scale, on the other hand, is like skipping from one tile in the kitchen to another. Much more manageable.
So, for example, if you're in a state of anger you cannot simply change your thought and skip straight to hopefulness because that is too far out of reach when you’re angry. But you could reach for the feeling of worry, that would feel slightly better. And then once you move through worry you can progress to frustration, another step up from where you were, and so on all the way until you feel great! #winning
Or if you're feeling worried, instead of going straight for appreciation, you can move into a place of disappointment, and then impatience, and then eventually contentment.
Here's a more specific example, when I feel depressed, I try to reach for an angry thought. "I'm so sad that my life isn't going according to my timing because my boyfriends has four (not two like I thought) more years of school left."(depression) eventually becomes "Ugh. I'm so mad at this situation. I cannot wait four more years!"(anger/impatience).
When I'm angry, I've actually taken back a lot of my power. After feeling angry for a while I get tired of feeling frustrated and then I think whatever I can to find some sense of contentment and calm. "This situation is obviously not ideal, but I've already waited this long what's a couple more years really in the big scheme of things?" (contentment).
“Reach for a better feeling thought.”
Relief is the operative word here.
When you find relief you are releasing resistance. When you release resistance, you feel better. When you feel better, you raise your vibration. And when you raise your vibration, good things will come.
Relief is the first step.
There are lots of different ways to find relief. Like by meditating, practicing gratitude, doing something fun, or simply changing your focus. (Although, I will say that changing your focus is probably a harder one to do if you've been stuck in a certain vibration for a very long time.)
If you can move yourself up the emotional scale from the larger numbered emotions towards the lower numbered ones, you are going up and getting closer to everything you ever wanted. If you're moving down the scale from the smaller numbered emotions to the bigger numbered ones, then you are moving away from your manifestations.
Now, I know what you're probably thinking, "I have to move my heavy self all the way up this freaking ladder just to get to what I want?! Sounds like a terribly difficult chore."
The truth is, our natural state is to be happy and in a space of love. So really, instead of you doing something to feel better, it's more like your undoing stuff that keeps you from naturally feeling better.
It's harder to feel bad than it is to feel good. It requires way more effort and energy on our part.
It just seems like feeling good is hard because we've been practicing feeling bad for such a long time! But if we weren't always holding ourselves back from feeling good, then we would always be connected to the natural flow of wellbeing. (You can see this very clearly in babies and little kids.)
It's like the East Australian Current (E.A.C.) in Finding Nemo. There's a natural flow of wellbeing that all of us belong in. It's happy, fun, and makes life easy, but a lot of times we opt out for whatever reason. We just step aside and make the journey half way across the ocean the slow and hard way.

Instead of thinking of moving up the emotional scale like a chore, like something you have to do, think of it more like not doing that thing you usually do and you will naturally float right on up. Enjoy the process of feeling a little better, and then a little better, and then even better.
Reach for better feeling thoughts and you'll soon be on your way right up the emotional guidance scale!
