What is "Manifestation" and Why Should I Care?

Whenever I meet someone for the first time and I get on the topic of manifestation, as I somehow always manage to do, the first thing they ask me (in speculation usually) is "What do you mean by manifestation?".

The Merriam-Webster dictionary describes manifestation as "one of the forms that something has when it appears or occurs" or "a perceptible, outward, or visible expression". Which makes sense (and you'll see why in a little), but to me a manifestation (noun) is something you bring forth into your physical life experience through past thoughts, feelings, or beliefs. This could be an experience, an object, a person... anything!

Therefore, to manifest (verb) something is to bring something forth into your physical life experience by using your thoughts, feelings, or beliefs. To learn more about how to manifest read my article Manifestation 101: How to Manifest Anything Your Heart Desires.

In fact, reality is nothing but waves of possibility that we have “observed” into form.

Why Should I Care?

There are two big reasons why you should care:

1. You can manifest anything you want with a little bit of focus!

2. You can manifest things you don't want if you're unaware of how your thoughts are creating your reality!

Believe it or not, you are constantly manifesting your own life experience all of the time. You have created your life entirely by yourself. Everything that is occurring in your life right now can be directly traced back to thoughts, feelings or beliefs you (consciously or unconsciously) practiced in the past.

Basically, your whole life is one big manifestation.

Scientists have discovered and proven that everything is made up of energy. Seemingly solid objects are energy, live animals are energy, thoughts are energy, and people are energy. Everything is energy. We know this.

Within the Universe there is an energy field where all the energy lives and interacts with itself. Albert Einstein called this the Zero Point Field. Pam Grout calls this Field of Potentiality. Abraham Hicks calls it the Vortex. I usually just refer to is simply as the Universe. What you call it does not matter. What matters is that it exists, it is 100% consistently dependable and that you can use it to create anything your heart desires. You can look at it from a scientific or spiritual point of view, either way it's essentially this: a means for creating your own reality.

The problem is, often times we don't realize our own power and are manifesting by default! We don't take the time to understand how our thoughts are shaping our reality and so we just keep on thinking the same negative things and keep on feeling the same crappy way about life. It's like a broken record player, playing negative thoughts over and over and over in our minds which produces the same old stuff to show up in our life time and time again.

But that's about to change because now we know better.

If you want to be, do or have anything you want you just have to be aware and stay conscious. Conscious of the thoughts you are thinking, the emotions you are feeling, and the beliefs you may be hiding. You can manifest the life of your dreams by simply choosing the right thoughts, staying in touch with your emotions, and changing any beliefs that no longer serve you. It's pretty simple in theory. but can be very hard in application (especially the whole controlling your thoughts part).

Manifestation is a means of creation. Where we focus and whatever we focus on expands.

In my experience, manifesting is about the most fun and creative way to spend my time and energy. Naturally, we are all creators and I believe it is our sole purpose on this earth to create an experience we love. Since God (the Universe/Source Energy/whatever higher power you believe in) created us as an extension of Himself and God is the ultimate creator, we too are creators! We naturally posses that same power and ability.

When I manifest things (on purpose), I feel like I have this magical power where I can create my life exactly how I want it just by using my imagination and keeping a close eye on my thoughts! Every day I come home to my family or I see my boyfriend and say "Guess what I manifested today!" and they just look at me laughing like, "That crazy witch is at it again!".

Although it may seem like manifestation is some sort of wizardry, it's actually quite simple. You get what you focus on. I simply choose to focus on the things that I want in life and the Universe conspires to help me get it. Easy.

My most important New Years resolution for 2016 was to (and I quote) "manifest the shit out of life". So far I've improved my manifestation skills and have manifested some pretty awesome stuff like new clients at my salon (I do hair), free disneyland tickets, awesome dance opportunities, winning $104 at the casino, a great birthday dinner experience, and let's not forget my most life changing manifestation of all, my boyfriend/love of my life (which technically didn't happen happen this year, but I'm trying to make a point here).

I know you want to learn how to take control of your life and start manifesting great things in your life too and I want to show you how. Heck, I want to show everyone how! Why do you think I started this blog? To talk about shoes and gossip? I don't think so. I want to shout it from the rooftops because it is literally the most liberating and awesome thing to own your power and create the life you've always wanted!

Your next step is to learn the basics of manifesting and start putting them into action! My article Manifestation 101: How to Manifest Anything Your Heart Desires will teach you step-by-step how to do just that. Enjoy!
