4 Positive Affirmations That Will Supercharge Your Life

I wanted to call this article "4 Positive Affirmations (You Can Actually Get Behind) That Will Supercharge Your Life", but it was a little too lengthy.

Why am I telling you this? Because how often do we try to affirm positive things only for them to create so much discord and resistance that they actually make us feel worse than we did before!

Those types of affirmations, positive affirmations that are too positive, are out of reach and never work (unless you're already feeling amazing). They just make us feel like a big fat liars. (If this sounds like your struggle, you need my new book #ActuallyICan The Art of Affirming Yourself to Greatness.)

These affirmations, on the other hand, are designed with where you are in mind. If you're feeling shitty, trying to affirm "I feel great" is not gonna help for the obvious reason that you don't feel great. And every time you say you do you're just reminding yourself of how you don't. Which means your words are saying one thing, but your thoughts and feelings are really affirming the exact opposite.

So without further ado, here are four practically positive affirmations that will help you bypass this struggle and win at life. (For 200 more affirmations where these came from, check out my book “Affirmations for Happiness”!)

4 Positive Affirmations That Will Supercharge Your Life

1. I am enough.

One of the most powerful affirmations, especially for people struggling with confidence. (So... practically everyone.) I find it so useful that I recently wrote a whole article about it!

Feelings of unworthiness are never fun and do nothing but hold us back in life. Using "I am enough" is a gentle way to reprogram your subconsious mind into alignment with who you really are. Remind yourself of this every day until it sticks. And when it does, you'll feel whole again.

2. It is my dominant intent to feel good.

Abraham Hicks teaches this awesome affirmation and I can tell you from personal experience that it helps (a lot)! It's way more effective than trying to affirm "I feel good all the time" because really, who does? But we can all intend to feel good. Not much resistance there.

I truly believe that life is all about having fun and feeling good. Everyone could use a little more feel good for the simple reason that it feels good! What more incentive do you need other than that?! Choose to feel good and take back your power. As a side bonus, you’ll attract some awesome stuff into your life. (There's your extra incentive.)

3. I let go of fear and choose love instead.

A Course In Miracles says that there are really only two main emotional states; fear and love. Negative feelings (like stress, anxiety, depression and so on) stem from fear and all things good (like happiness, kindness, forgiveness and so on) are based in love.

To choose love over fear is the definition of a miracle. Be miracle-minded and whenever you notice yourself succumbing to fear, choose love instead. Let go of fear and find relief in love.

(Side note: When you feel bad, letting go is often the easiest way to find relief. That's what makes "I let go of..." such a powerful affirmation template. For more affirmation templates download the Affirmations for Anything Worksheet. It has 25 awesome affirmation templates you can use to craft your own affirmations for any area of your life. Oh, and did I mention it's free?)

4. Everyone deserves to be happy, including me.

I could have easily made this affirmation "I deserve to be happy", but I didn't because this will resonate with way more people. "Everyone deserves to be happy" softens lots of resistance and discord making the affirmation more accessible to people who don't feel worthy of happiness. Because if you don't feel happy, it's probably because you don't think you deserve to be. And how could you successfully affirm something that you think is a lie?

Happiness is your divine birthright. There’s only one person who can take it away from you and it's not God, the government or your boss, it’s you. I don't care how badly you think you've sinned, everybody deserves to be happy and that includes you. So stop the self-sabotage already! Happiness is an inside job, which is great news because that means you have access to it at any time.

P.S. This is one of the many affirmations you’ll find in my book, “Affirmations for Happiness”. I specifically designed it to be a cute little daily support that contains potent medicine for your joy and happiness.)
